New Skincare Routine For Dry/Sensitive Skin

by - 10:00

Happy February! January was a tough year but we got through it so make sure to give yourselves a pat on the back. Some of you beady-eyed readers might be able to notice that my blog link has changed slightly. I FINALLY HAVE MY OWN DOMAIN! Thanks to my brother, who kindly surprised me by buying me my own domain, I have now ditched and Caityloux is now a full brand! It might not mean much to others, but I'm pretty excited about it.

Today I'm bringing you my brand new skincare routine. I've been using some new products since Christmas and I'm so excited to share them with you since I really feel like they have made a difference.

My first step when I begin my routine is exfoliating. I either do this in the shower or over the sink, and I use the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Glow Scrub. I find that it is perfect for a light, daily exfoliation and pre-cleanse, and believe that it's claims are true - it does help with the natural 'glow' of my skin giving me brighter, smoother, fresher skin. The scrub has 3 pure clays ( kaolin, montmorillonite & ghassoul) and red algae to help you achieve the perfect exfoliation without it being too harsh. The best things about it are that you only need a small amount & it only costs £5.99!

As someone with dry and sensitive skin, I much prefer  cleanser that comes in a cream or a balm rather than a foaming wash. When L'Oreal released their Fine Flowers range, I knew I had to try it! I've been using their Cleansing Cream for about a month or so now and I have fallen in love!

It claims that it is a luxurious cleansing cream for soft, comfortable and soothed skin, every day and it melts even the most stubborn of makeup away without drying out the skin...and I agree! It's a very thick cream that when massaged into the skin, it melts and transforms into a delicate cleansing milk. My skin always feel super clean afterwards without feeling dry, if anything my skin feels moisturised & supple.

If that isn't enough to tempt you, some of the main ingredients are rose and jasmine flower extract which make the cream smell like a calming spa. It comes in a decently sized & priced 200ml tub for £7.99, and considering you only need a small amount, that aint bad!

Nivea has been a holy grail brand for me when it comes to moisturising. They're extremely affordable (I typically buy their products when they're on sale for 1/2 price at £2) and they're definitely kind to the skin. Usually I use the daily essentials day & night creams for dry/sensitive skin, but at the moment I am using the Daily Essentials Sensitive Night Cream. And yes I am aware that this is a night cream but when times are hard you've got to make do and it works just fine during the day too.

If I were to recommend a brand for moisturiser I would pick Nivea straight away. They prove that you don't need to spend a sh*t tonne of money to have beautiful, soft skin!

Now I don't know about you, but I LOVE me a good face mask! I find it so calming and therapeutic so finding the right mask is pretty much essential. I've tried the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox mask before, and while I liked it and agreed that it helped to clear my skin a lot, it was too drying for me. So I found one of their new releases the Pure Clay Bright that's what I'm talking about!

For £7.99, I have myself a miracle in a jar! This mask doesn't just get rid of my pores and dead skin cells, it gets rid of my stress, my financial worries & my crippling depression in one go...nah I'm kidding, but it is incredible. I use this 1-2 times a week and I'm not joking when I say it is a miracle. It literally saves my skin. So if you're looking for a new face mask, I highly recommend giving this a shot!

If I haven't mentioned it already, I have dry skin! So using an oil a couple of times a week is essential for me to keep my skin well moisturised and healthy. Recently I've discovered the Superdrug Coconut Oil with Argan Oil for Hair & Skin.

I use this on the same nights that I use my mask, afterwards I lather this over my skin and massage it in, I then leave it to sink in overnight and I wake up with stunning, supple skin that I can be proud of. I'm a huge fan of the standard Superdrug coconut oil, but since this also has argan oil, I feel like it works twice as good. Again, I don't believe that you have to splash the cash to find a good facial oil, this is proof!

That's it for my current skincare routine, let me know in the comments a skincare product that you're loving at the moment! Thank you so much for reading! Check out my other posts and remember to sign up to my email subscription to make sure that you don't miss a post! Thank you.
