Chocolate Orange Brownies Recipe | BLOGMAS

by - 10:00

Welcome to Blogmas day 7! Like many people, I strongly associate chocolate orange with Christmas, so let's celebrate the festive season by doing a little baking! Last year I showed you a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, this year I'm going to be giving a recipe to make the most delicious chocolate orange brownies.

250g chocolate orange (you could also add some dark chocolate if you want it to be little richer)
250g unsalted butter
150g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla essence
300g caster sugar

1. Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas3. Line tin with lightly buttered, greaseproof paper.
2. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside for later.
3. Put the chocolate & butter in a bowl, place over a pan of simmering water and melt (bain marie)
4. Once completely melted and smooth, remove the chocolate from the heat and stir in the sugar.
5. Add the eggs and vanilla essence.
6. Fold in the flour.
7. (Optional) Add in extra treats (marshmallow, nuts, orange zest etc.) 8. Put in the oven for 25 - 30 minutes until the top is firm and the middle is still squishy.
9. Leave to cool then cut into squares.
10. EAT!
